The Eastern Maine Sportsmen’s show is not just about fly fishing — it’s far more. Hunting, spin fishing, outdoor equipment, and all that comes with it are on display. As such, fly fishermen often don’t think this is a “show for them”. What many don’t know is there’s plenty of fly fishing related stuff. Moreover, the only other big show in Maine specific to fly fishing is the L.L.Bean weekend. At this time of year, I’d be happy to go to any show with fly fishing related displays. Call me desperate.

The Bangor Daily News (BDN) is offering up some good stuff, including this:
Randy Spencer for two times slots during which he’ll be glad to talk to folks about his new book, “Wide and Deep: Tales and Recollections from a Master Maine Fishing Guide.” Spencer’s book isn’t even available in stores yet, but he got his publisher, Skyhorse Publishing Co., to ship him some copies that he’ll unveil for the Orono crowd. Spencer will be at our BDN booth from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, and noon-2 p.m. Sunday.
In addition, BDN will be running their annual “Win a Drift Boat Trip” contest. This year’s “trip will take place on June 15, and one lucky angler will join [BDN writer John Holyoke] and Dan Legere, owner of the Maine Guide Fly Shop, for a fantastic day floating the East Outlet of the Kennebec River.”
There will be a fly fishing demonstration on Saturday and Sunday called “Fins & Furs Adventures” led by Carroll or Lila Ware.
