The inside of my dad’s rod shop — where many a rod have been crafted. It’s one of the most comforting places I know, and also one of the most inspiring. Many of the tools were originally owned by Mr. Everett Garrison, and were featured in my dad’s book on the topic.
Over the past decade, I’ve built a couple of rods here. All from graphite blanks, and each one better than the one before.
Ove this past long weekend I spent some time in the shop working on building two rods: a double handed 8/9 weight, and a 5 weight single. It wasn’t without incident, but it was one of the best weekends I’ve had in months.
Stay tuned for more photos. I’ll share them as soon as I can.
