A few days ago, I got the below in the my inbox: an invitation from Cheeky Reels, the Boston-based reel manufacturer, for their annual Cape Cod schoolie tournament. I’ve yet to attend, but judging from the video, this is guaranteed to be a fun time, with decent prizes. Plus, the guys behind the company, Peter and Ted, are good guys. Join Cheeky in welcoming our hard working schoolie stripers to their summer vacation home. The Cheeky Schoolie Tournament is a low barrier to entry, grassroots tournament designed to encourage the interest and growth of saltwater fly fishing. True grassroots style – no engines, paddles or flippers. This is a fun, competitive tournament open to all skill levels.

Cheeky Reels, Swag and cash prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. There will also be captain’s bags for each angler with over $25 in gear, and a raffle put on by our sponsors: Patagonia, Montana Fly Company, Fishpond, Howler Brothers, Mud Dug Saltwater Flies, Free Fly, Vedavoo and High Hook Wines.
