The Fly Fishing Film Tour (f3t) 2014 is coming to the Bear’s Den fly shop on February 22nd. Well, close — it’s being hosted by the Bear’s Den at the Taunton Inn and Conference Center. This is great, in many ways — the guys at the Bear’s Den are great, with a big network, and so will hopefully be able to pull in a good crowd. But I must say I really enjoyed the venue last year: the Somerville Theater in Davis is a beautiful old theater with a good beer selection. Though the event was a bit of a mixed bag, it was generally a great time. (Read my recap of last year’s event here.)
The info is not yet on the Bear’s Den website, but follow the link below to buy a ticket today. And scroll down to watch a bunch of trailers of the films in this year’s f3t.

I’m a bit disappointed that F3T didn’t give the Somerville Theater one more year to get some traction. These films need a large screen, decent sound system and theater setting for the best experience.
I saw F3T a couple years ago at the Taunton Conference center and it was a huge letdown. We sat in a lecture room setting with films being projected on a pop up screen from a portable projector.
I hope to make it to the Bear’s Den show this year, but probably won’t be able to make the F3T. For anyone north of the Mass Pike, it’s a bit of a haul.
I too am disappointed. And I didn’t know about the audio/visual quality of the room in Taunton. I hope they’re able to fix that this year and, if not, that they’ll come back north to the Somerville Theather, or a similar theater, in future years.
