This week, April Vokey published her latest episode of her “Anchored” Podcast series, and it featured none other than my dad, Hoagy B. Carmichael. You can listen to a copy of that podcast at the below link.

Why my dad, you might ask? He’s built bamboo rods, and wrote a book about it with famed maker Everett Garrison — a cook some call “The Bible” on the topic.

He’s written a few books about salmon fishing, including two volumes on the historic Grand Cascapedia River. He’s published a few collections of non-fiction, and has appeared in National Geographic, The New York Times, and other places for his work on fly fishing.

Forgive me — I’m just a proud son. And I’m happy to see him healthy and happy once again.

If you’re interested, you can find his books on his website here: http://www.booksbycarmichael.com/

Or, feel free to stop by my house — I’ve got a few here!
